A Tryst to Heaven (6th June 2010)

Mumbai - Leh - Mumbai (6th June 2010) (6 Bikers, 5 Bikes, 6000km, 8 States, 20 days and curves of Himalayas) Well, we call it Leh - the capital of Ladhak and crown of India.We, a team of 6 people, did 6000 km in 20 days. 6 bikers, 5 bikes, 8 states and all weathers. We did this head trip during the month of June 2010. It is been quite a while since this blog has been pending so it is now taking time to remember each moments spent during the trip. Un - Commonsense

I've always been perplexed by seemingly irrational behavior among many people. Common sense appears to be uncommon among them, and many are prone to accepting explanations based on mysticism or wishful thinking. I've tried to understand what constitutes common sense and why it is not common among people. Common sense is an inherent knowledge acquired through practice or experience. When it becomes conscious awareness and obvious to common people, it is referred to as common sense. In other words, common sense is nothing but paying attention to the obvious. But how do we pay attention to the obvious? Is it easy to do so? The truth is, it's not easy to pay heed to the obvious because our subconscious minds are filled with vivid imaginations, fantasies, and intellect that can replace the obvious, making life farcical and even tragic. Independence in true sense

Do we truly possess independence? This is the question I would like to pose to every citizen of India. Currently, we are limited by our own narrow-minded thoughts. We use foul language, spit wherever we please, litter the streets, and flout all types of rules, whether they pertain to traffic, society, or any other area. As Indians and as individuals, we are fostering egotism, envy, and jealousy towards anyone we come across in our environment. The troubling part is that we are consciously or unconsciously imparting these qualities to our children. How can society change for the better? Corruption has become commonplace, both within people's minds and in society as a whole. If you want to purchase a house, you must pay a bribe to the registrar. If you need an extra gas cylinder, bribe someone to get it delivered to your home. If you break a traffic signal, bribe the traffic police.
